It also appears that some of the Hampshire MPs are lobbying for a blanket 40mph speed limit on country roads. I will forward more information about this as and when I get it.
MAG on 4 Wheels
Justin (one of our Virtual MAG members) has suggested a go-karting evening in conjunction with Ixion, a large motorcycle electronic community, Gareth is looking into getting us a track cheap. Watch this space for more details!
Bike Awareness Day
Saturday 27th March

We have verbal confirmation of our Bike Awareness Stand
at the Bargate in the centre of Southampton. We will be there from 10am
to 4pm. If you want to bring your bike down for the display, please mail
me. You will have to make sure it is clean and shiny! Thanks to Rose for
all her sterling efforts so far, and to Keith for his excellent poster
design. If you just want to man the stand, feel free. Give me a shout if
you are interested.
Pet Food Run
Sunday 28th March
The Pet food run will be to the Second Chance Animal
Sanctuary. Meet at Home Tavern 2pm. Please bring pet food stuff - straw,
food, blankets. We have use of a van so if anyone has anything that they
can't fit on a bike mail me and I will arrange something.
We would really like your support for this, thanks to
Jennie for hassling the local media - we hope to get TV/Press coverage.
Please give me a mail if you want to come so we can get an idea of numbers!
We have already some coverage in the Echo.
The latest word from the Sanctuary is that they really
need our support. Please come along, or contribute something. If you have
*anything* that you think might be of use, please mail me.
Basingstoke MAG Easter Egg Run and Party.
Sat 27th March. Easter Egg Run to local children's home,
followed by an evening party.
For Run Meet at Magnums Bar, Basingview Basingstoke at
1:00pm
Party at Magnums in the evening 8:00pm-2:00am Band and
Disco.

Reading MAG Bike show.
Free!!!! Entry. Sunday 4th April. At Reading Rugby Club from 11am. There will also be a party afterwards - tickets £3! For further information please contact me and I will find out for you.
Lion Rally Marshals Wanted.
Reading MAG's Lion Rally require Marshals. You get to go to the event for free, and the Marshals only party is worth it! The downside is... you have to work hard. Mail me and I will pass you details on to Reading MAG.
Southampton MAG AGM 14th April.

Activists Training weekend. 7-9th May.
Location not confirmed yet. Its not a fanatics brain washing weekend but instead deals with communications and 'working the system' to help get your message across. Think of it as a 'How to Lobby' course and you'll be on the right tracks.

We have been asked by Southampton City Council on their views on the Local Transport issues. Please come down to meeting to have a look at their consultation document and have *your* say.
New T-shirt designs.
Thanks to Mark and Keith for their Southampton MAG T-shirts
designs. We have
decided to go with the original MAG logo in white \ yellow
on black. The T-shirts are currently being printed, I will inform you of
prices.
Beaver Bash - The Aftermath......
A jolly good (if rather chilly) weekend was had by all who attended. Over ¢100 was raised for MAG, so thanks to Mark and the rest of his team for organising such a successful rally.
