Latest News

Motorcycle World, Beaulieu Motor Museum.

Slightly sun-burned and sore of foot, we would like to thank all those who turned up, from Southampton, Winchester, Dorset, and quite probably places I didn't know about (sorry). A fair few (exact numbers escape me) new members were signed up and more Streetbikers than you can shake a stick at were distributed. Another vote of thanks to all those traders who donated prizes for the otter rally.

Busy on Wednesday.

We need some strong backs to help with the Hot Otter Marquee on the Wednesday before the rally. You will need to be on site at around 9am. If you want to help out please give me a mail and I will get one of the organisers to get in contact with you.

Magna Carta Freedom Run.

Southampton MAG will be going on the Magna Carta Freedom Run. We will be departing the Home Tavern at 10am for a gentle ride up to St. Albans for the run proper. This is one of MAG's Flagship runs, so the more people we have, the better it will be. Look forward to seeing you all.

Stolen Bike Alert.

The following motorcycle was stolen recently. Since the bike is owned by a MAG member, there may be a reward for information leading to the conviction whichever person of dubious parentage nicked it. Details as follows:

MAG Southampton are pleased to announce that Lynn and Jennie have both passed their CBTs and will be terrorising the law-abiding motorists of Hampshire shortly.

Ocean Village Bike Show.

Some of you may well know already but we will be involved in the Ocean Village bike show on 18 and 19th of September. This has attracted a lot of interest already, and we will be having a meeting to discuss it soon. More details to follow.

Hot Otter Rally.

Its not long to the Hot Otter now! Tickets are a mere £6 (if you collect them from the meeting, or speak to me.). If anyone wants to marshal it, please give me a shout. We are still looking for traders - if you know of anyone who might fit the bill, get them to contact me or either of the two reps. We are also looking for donations for rally prizes. The Donor will receive free publicity.

Eastleigh Carnival.

Will be on the 21st August. and we need some willing volunteers. Please contact Angie on (023 80) 342226 if you want to help out. It's a Grease theme (think John Travolta, not high-melting point lithium), and we are looking for some old leather jackets and similar props. Does anyone look like Olivia Newton-John and care to volunteer?

Improve your riding.

Eastleigh Police are operating a Better Biking course later on in the Year. This scheme is run purely by volunteers and costs you not a penny. Several people from MAG have already been on this scheme and found it hugely rewarding. If you want to take part (it will take three consecutive Sundays, involving a mixture of theoretical and practical advice and tuition given by class 1 police riders) please give me an email and I will forward the relative details. Don't be shy!
