Apologies for the suspension of the site for the last two weeks.
Our ISP
had been hacked and had suspended all sites it hosted.
19/12/2007 - Really great news! -
Southampton City Council have now agreed to
Motorcycles going over the Itchen
Bridge for free.
13/12/2007 - It is with great regret
that we find out Paul Smith, Motoring campaigner
and founder of SafeSpeed
has passed away at the age of 52. He will be greatly
missed by all fellow
campaigners regardless of what form of transport chosen.
Our Condolences
go to his family at this very sad time.

13/7/2007 - Graham Stringer's Off Road Bill has been withdrawn - Common sense prevails.
5/7/2007 - Fin Colson has stood down
as the Regional Rep. Jez Doddington will be
taking up the reins in the meantime.

As with fuel duty rates, the Government today announces VED rates
for this
year and the next two years to further sharpen environmental signals
to
motorists to purchase more fuel efficient vehicles and continue to support
the
development of low-carbon market .......
including:in
2007-08 only, freezing the rates for motorbikes
in the lower band with higher
bands increasing by £1-£2
26/1/2007 - Unfortunately, the Beaver
Bash has been cancelled this year, mainly due
to the costs involved in site
licensing with the local authorities.
2/11/2006 - The Cricketers has now
re-opened, so from next week, we
shall be meeting there again.
9/9/2006 - The Cricketers will be
closing temporarily for refurbishment
on 25th September for approximately
1 month. Our meetings for the
duration of the works, from the 27th September
onwards will be at
The Foresters, Stoke Common Road, Bishopstoke.

3/9/2006 - Southampton MAG AGM new
Rep is Geoff Breeze. Thanks to
Rose Saunders for her past work, who has
now stepped down.
8/4/2006 - The MAG AGC has elected
Jane Chisholm as our new Chairman.
Also decided at the AGC, MAG has withdrawn
from any involvement
with the UK Independence Party meeting which was to
be held in
Salisbury on 23rd April relating to the European Union's 3rd
Driving
License Directive.
23/3/2006 - The latest budget news: Motorcycle VED now
up to £62 for 601cc and above
£31 for 151 to 400cc, £46
for 401 to 600cc. Cost of VED frozen at £15 for bikes
below 151cc.
22/2/2006 - New Regional Rep was elected on the 22nd
February, and the lucky
guy is Fin Colson. If you want to know what he looks
like, he can be found on
the cover of issue 2 of our august journal "The
Road".

Who we are
MAG are for all motorcyclists, moped riders, scooterists or indeed anyone with an interest in motorcycles. All riders, pillions and just the plain curious are welcome, anything from a Tomos Moped to a Honda Blackbird.
We look forward to seeing you!
What we do
MAG exists to promote and protect the interests
of all motorcyclists, scooter and moped riders at both a local, national and
europewide level. Our branch here in Southampton covers not only the Southampton
City area, but also Eastleigh and the New Forest District as well.
We are here for you.
On the lighter side we also organise a runs, rallies, parties
both to raise funds for MAG and for local charities.
We assist the local community in a number of fund-raising activities.
